I’m really lucky with my in-laws and particularly so with my mother in-law. She’s French and wonderfully kind and thoughtful. Last birthday she bought me a piece of jewellery, a lovely faceted teardrop of blue chalcedony hung on a leather cord. I have worn it lots but now the wear and tear is beginning...

Birthdays
