Hotel Virtude

Tree // Jul 28th, 2008
These past few weeks I have been extra busy with friends and family visiting and our home has been more of a hotel than a jewellery studio! Still, I’m back now and although I have a family wedding and plenty of other engagements coming up, I have more time to dedicate to my blog. As well as making jewellery...
The latest edition arrived this morning, it’s always nice to see what the high-end jewellers are up to and for this I head to the “Tendencias” section or “Trends”. This issue has five main areas: Joyas Ultra-Light/Ultra Light Jewels, Oro Mate/Matt Gold, Esmaltes/Enamels, Joyas para niños/Jewellery...
Continuing in the bridal theme from last time, I made a pendant necklace to go with the earrings and bracelet. I continued with the heart theme and used the same Crystal Silver Shade crystals combined with ivory freshwater pearls. “Briony” Crystal Silver Shade with Freshwater Pearl The main pendant...
Yesterday and today the weather has been pretty bad here in the north of Spain, Bilbao had the worst flooding in living memory. Here in San Sebastian it wasn’t quite as bad as all that, but still, the rain was enough to ensure that I stayed tucked away in my studio with plenty of cups of tea! Apparently...
Well if my last project was emulating the colours of sand, then this one is for that inky black line on the horizon that I was writing about. I have some other Bali silver pendants, a solid Sterling heart with fine detailing and very pretty! This pendant has been antiqued and then polished to enhance the detailing,...

I loved the colours of the sky when you’re standing on the beach and can see a storm in the distance out at sea. There’s an inky line...

Galicia

Tree // May 22nd, 2008
Apologies for being away so long- how rude! But I have been very busy with two major themes: 1. Going on holiday- yay! My little family and I drove West to Galicia in our camper van stacked with surfboards and my mobile jewellery shop, both of which were used successfully! I surfed almost every day and I had...

Connemara

Tree // May 6th, 2008
I’m taking a break from Pride and Prejudice jewellery at the moment, although I added this nice little image index on the left, and I’m planning to revisit it in a while. So onwards I go to…Ireland! About five years ago when my sister Lisa and I were both living in Hampshire, we took a week off...
Mrs Jenkinson is a minor character, but we see her here gladly offering up the use of the piano in her room that Lizzie might improve her skill. Miss Anne de Bourgh, Mrs Jenkinson and Mr William Collins Her necklace seems to be a chain with drops in jet, possibly. I created a version with Swarovski faceted...
Mrs Bennet, I’m sure this character never had so much life breathed in to her as when Alison Steadman’s played her; she was so shrill, so annoying but utterly wonderful and I’m glad that she continued to work in period dramas after this, her first performance in this genre. Here we see her wearing...
