Rose Quartz “Love the Beach” Necklace
Today was an unusually hot day. It’s October and here in the north of Spain October is usually lovely but today felt just like summer, so after coming back from the beach where I found some frosty beach glass, I made this long length necklace.
It uses frosted glass and smooth, watery rose quartz. I finished it with a little Sterling star charm.
Who says we only get to wear pretty pastels in spring?

Oh I’m just loving amethyst! I recently made a new set of jewellery with this fabulous gemstone and combined with with labradorite. I think they go very well together, even given labradorite’s dual personality i.e. one minute a predictable, grey gemstone but then when the light catches it, it gives off those exciting flashes of electric blue…

Leather Cord Necklace
Sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind. The race is long and, in the end, it’s only with yourself.
Wise words indeed by Mary Schmich, and in the case of my jewellery I feel a bit like that right now. It took me almost forever to get into the whole purple thing last year, but I’m getting ahead of the curve on leather!
I made a few necklaces today, actually I started using beads I bought in Bali last summer (hence the naming) but I’m going to start with the gemstone versions first because I finished those last. So meet Kuta (nice easy reef for surfing):

Spring Cleaning! | Gemstone Jewellery for Spring
Oh how nice- the first blossoms of Spring! Makes you want to …have a Spring clean! Well at least it did for me, in a digital kind of way… The net result of which is a new look for this blog, and also the fact that it’s now also a shop! It all still looks a bit weird so if you’ll bear with me while I get rid of some of the more cumbersome-looking bits (well as much as my meagre CSS skills will allow) and it’ll be back to normal blogging.
And on that note, I’d like to talk about the beautiful pale colours that are starting to appear- like the ice-cream colours of the first spring blossoms. I just made two necklaces inspired by this: one with pink and peach hues and the other with pale watery blues and turquoises.
They’re both in the classic t-shape, but with the added little twist of an extra piece that dangles down the back a little.
Aquamarine, moonstone, amazonite, pearl and jade- including a cute little puffed jade heart.

These are just the sort of thing for breezy white shirt days!
